How the New York Mets roster timeline works
Mets players fill the deck, and you put them in order of the year each joined the club. One player starts on the timeline with his year in view. Each card shows a name and a position, maybe shortstop or starting pitcher, and you decide which gap it belongs in. Choose correctly and the year appears. Choose wrongly and he still lands in his real place, and you're left with one fewer of your three lives.
The Mets started as an expansion team, so there's no prehistory here, only the club's own run from the lovable losers through the surprise champions and on to the modern rosters. The deck is busiest in the middle, with the brash contenders and the teams that followed.
