About the cartoon and animation timeline games
Animation comes three ways here. Film decks order by release: Animated films with 76 cards, Disney animated classics with 63, and studio decks for Pixar, Studio Ghibli, DreamWorks Animation and Illumination. Episode decks go by original air date for The Simpsons, South Park, Futurama, Rick and Morty, Avatar: The Last Airbender, SpongeBob SquarePants and Bluey. Simpsons characters by debut dates Springfield's residents to their first appearance, counting the Tracey Ullman Show shorts. Studio decks are compact, between 16 and 37 cards. You lay cards down one by one, and every miss costs a life.
Families can start with Pixar or Illumination, where most titles are recent and well known. Studio Ghibli is harder than it looks, since many fans saw those films years after they first opened in Japan. Long-running shows like The Simpsons and South Park are the deep end, with famous episodes spread across many seasons. Futurama adds its own wrinkle, because the show was canceled and revived more than once, leaving long breaks between batches of episodes.
