About the Pokémon timeline games

Six decks cover the Pokémon world from different angles. The biggest, Pokédex numbers, has 159 cards ordered by National Dex number rather than by date. Pokémon games and Pokémon TCG sets go by release, regions are ordered by the games that introduced them, and the starters and box legendaries decks sort by the generation each debuted in. Sizes run from ten regions up to that huge Pokédex deck. You place one card at a time, and each misplaced one costs a life.

Regions is a quick, friendly warm-up for anyone who has followed the main series. The games deck gets harder because many releases cluster around each new generation. Starters and legendaries are tricky in their own way: several Pokémon share a generation, so placing them leans on knowing which region they call home. The Pokédex deck is for the true completionist, where neighboring numbers invite tiny slips.
