How the US presidents timeline game works
Put the presidents of the United States back in order by the year each took office. Every card shows a president's name with their party and home state printed underneath. The timeline opens with one president already placed and his year showing. For every new card, pick the gap where it belongs among the presidents already down. A right call uncovers the year; get it wrong and the card still drops into its real place, but you lose one of your three lives.
The presidents run from the founding of the republic to recent administrations. The party line is more useful than it looks, since some parties existed only for a stretch of the country's history. Most players stall on the run of lesser-known names before the Civil War and the Gilded Age leaders who blur together. A few times the office changed hands within the same year, so watch for very close calls.
