About the naval history timelines
Famous ships orders 37 vessels by the year each was launched, from the Mary Rose to the ships of the modern era. The rest of the page comes from players: decks that line up battleship, battlecruiser, cruiser, destroyer and aircraft carrier classes by the date the class was laid down, and one that orders naval battles by the day each began. They are flagged as community decks, and they run from about twenty cards to more than a hundred. You place one card at a time, and each miss costs a life.
Famous ships is the friendliest start, since the famous names span five centuries and spread out well. The warship class decks are for readers of naval history: classes were often laid down within a few years of each other, so the dreadnought race and the interwar treaty years pack the line tight. Naval battles rewards knowing how the war at sea unfolded.
