How the NFL No. 1 draft picks timeline works

The cards in this deck are players the NFL made the first pick of its draft, each shown with the team that took him. Your task is to order them by draft year. You start with a single pick on the timeline, year visible. Read each new card and slide it into the gap where you think it belongs. A correct guess reveals the year, and a wrong one moves the player to his true position while using up one of your three lives.

Quarterbacks dominate, which makes the deck harder rather than easier: one hyped passer starts to look a lot like the next. Pass rushers, running backs and the occasional lineman break up the pattern. Teams that struggled for long stretches picked first more than once, so the team line rarely settles a card by itself. Busts are the usual trap, since nobody remembers when a short career began.
