How the novels timeline game works
Each card is a famous novel, its author named under the title, and you sort them by the year each was first published. One novel opens the timeline with its year in view. You place every new card in a gap before, between or after the books already there. A right call uncovers the year; a wrong one still sends the novel to its real place and takes one of your three lives.
The deck reaches from early modern satire and the great Victorian and Russian novels through the modernists, postwar classics, genre landmarks and recent bestsellers. The author's name is a strong clue if you know when they lived. Writers who published over a long career, and books set in a different period than when they were written, are the usual traps.
