Order by the year of each NCAA tournament upset or Cinderella run. You place all 34 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a famous NCAA tournament upset or Cinderella run, from both the men's and women's brackets, ordered by the year it happened. Under each title is a quick summary: the seeds involved, the round, and sometimes the player who made it happen. One upset sits on the timeline first, year in view. Read each new card and pick its gap. When you're right the year appears; when you're wrong the card still goes to its true spot and you lose one of your three lives.
The deck reaches from the championship-game stunners of the early bracket era to the double-digit seeds of recent tournaments. The seed numbers help a little, since a top seed falling in the opening round of the men's bracket was long thought impossible. Several tournaments produced more than one entry, so some years are crowded. Familiar program names can mislead: the same powers get upset again and again, and a mid-major can make more than one run.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 34 cards you might be dealt, with 6 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
