Order by the year each circuit first hosted a Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix. You place all 35 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
The cards are tracks that have hosted Formula 1, and you order them by the year each first staged a World Championship Grand Prix. The town and country are printed under every circuit's name. One track is already on the line with its year shown. Place the next card in the gap you think fits. A good choice reveals the year; a poor one still sends the circuit to its proper place but takes one of your three lives. String together ten correct cards and a lost life is restored.
The deck covers the classic European venues of the championship's first season, then the long-haul races, the street circuits and the new desert and city venues of the modern calendar. Several famous tracks joined on day one, so the oldest end is crowded. Many circuits came, went and returned, but only the first race counts. Location helps: European venues tend to be older, while races in the Gulf and Asia mostly arrived later. Las Vegas features twice, in very different forms.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 35 cards you might be dealt, with 7 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
