Order by the year each record was set. You place all 32 cards on one timeline, one at a time. Three wrong guesses ends the run.
This deck tracks the marathon world record, one card per new mark, each naming the runner and the time with the race or city printed below. The aim is to order the records by the year they were set. You start with one record on the timeline and its year visible. For each new card, pick a gap among those already placed. Right answers reveal the year; wrong ones still drop the record into its true spot but take one of your three lives.
Each record lowered the one before it, so the times do point the way, but some gaps are tiny and a few runners improved their own marks more than once. The progression runs from the early Olympic marathons to the fast big-city courses of today. Watch the seconds closely, and use the city line when two times look almost identical.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 32 cards you might be dealt, with 4 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
