How to play the NHL Hart Trophy timeline game

The Hart Trophy goes to the NHL's most valuable player, and this deck holds its winners, each with his team printed below and sometimes a nickname or note. You're ordering them by the year each player first won it. One winner starts on the timeline with the year in view. Choose a gap for every new card; if you're right the year is revealed, and if you're wrong the player moves to his correct place and costs you one of three lives.

Stars of clubs that no longer exist sit alongside today's top scorers, with goalies and defensemen dotted among the forwards. Legends who won it several times appear only once, at their first Hart. A club name can give you a rough era, but storied franchises turn up all through the deck, so the note under the name often matters more.

Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
