How to play the NHL Norris Trophy timeline

Only defensemen win the Norris Trophy, and each winner here comes with his team and sometimes a short note printed beneath. You're sorting them by the year each first won the award. One winner sits on the timeline at the start, with his year visible. Place every new card in a gap. Correct placements reveal the year, and wrong ones still move the player to his true place but cost one of three lives.

Shutdown defenders and high-scoring blueliners share the deck, from the award's earliest winners to recent offensive stars. Several players won it repeatedly, but each appears only for his first. Classic clubs produce winners across the whole history, so the team line is a weak clue. Defensemen who peaked between the famous names are the hardest to fit in.

Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
