How the bridge span ranking game works

Bridges from around the world are ranked here by the length of their main span in meters, shortest first. Under each bridge you'll see its city or country. One bridge starts on the line with its span showing. For every new card, choose whether it goes above or below the bridges already placed. A right call reveals the main span; a wrong one still slides it into the correct place but costs one of three lives.

Only the longest single span counts, not the total length of the crossing, so a bridge that runs for miles can still rank low. Suspension bridges rule the long end, while arches and cable-stayed designs fill the middle. Famous old bridges often sit lower than their reputation suggests, and some of the biggest recent spans are in places you might not expect. Lots of cards are within a whisker of each other.
