Order by the cover-date year of each character's first comic appearance. You place all 39 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a DC character, with a quick line on who they are printed below, and you sort them by the cover-date year of their first comic appearance. You start with one character on the line and their year visible. Each new card needs a gap: earlier, later or in between. A right answer reveals the year and the card stays; a wrong answer still sends it to the correct spot and costs one of three lives.
The characters cover the Golden Age, the Silver Age, the darker and stranger books that followed and a few modern additions. Watch for heroes who share a name, because different people carried the same mantle at different times, and the description is how you tell them apart. The early years are packed, with a flood of costumed heroes and their enemies arriving in a short span.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 39 cards you might be dealt, with 11 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
