How the country albums timeline game works

Each card is a country record, title on top and the artist beneath, and the goal is to line them up by release year. You begin with one album already placed, year showing. Read the next card, decide whether it came before or after the albums on the line, and drop it in a gap. If you're right, its year appears. If you're wrong, it still slides to where it truly belongs, and you lose one of three lives.

Expect honky-tonk storytellers, the outlaw movement, the neotraditional revival, the crossover pop boom and the Americana songwriters of recent years. Several artists show up more than once, which helps only if you remember the order of their records. The trickiest calls come when a Nashville star and an alt-country songwriter released albums close together, since they sound like they belong to different eras.
