Order by the year each track was released. You place all 36 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a dance or electronic track, with the act printed under the title, and you place them by the year each was released. The timeline opens with one track already down and its year visible. As each new card comes in, choose the gap where you think it fits among the tracks you've placed. Land it correctly and the year is revealed; miss and the track moves to its real position while you drop one of your three lives.
The tracks run from synth-pop and the first house and acid records through rave, big beat, trance and French house to the festival boom and the newer club sound. The act name helps when you know a producer's peak, but many of these artists had long runs. Watch for festival anthems that feel older than they are, and for club records you might know from a later remix or revival.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 36 cards you might be dealt, with 8 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
