Order by the year each Alien, Predator or Alien vs. Predator film was released (or the series premiered). You place all 17 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Two monster franchises share this deck: the Alien films, the Predator films, the crossovers where they meet and a TV series. Each card names the director under the title, or says TV series. You start with one card on the timeline and its year showing, then place each new one into a gap before, after or between them. Hit the right gap and the year is revealed. Hit the wrong one and the card still lands in place, but one of your three lives goes with it.
The two series run side by side, so you're constantly interleaving them rather than finishing one before the other. Prequels and side stories complicate things further: where a film falls in the story says nothing about when it came out. Some stretches are crowded, with several releases arriving close together. A few famous directors made their names here, and recognizing them is a solid clue.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 17 of the 17 cards you might be dealt. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
