Order by worldwide box office, lowest first. You place all 26 cards in the right order, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Each card is a famous film with its director printed underneath, and you sort them by worldwide box office in millions of US dollars, lowest first. One movie starts on the line with its gross showing. For every new card, decide which gap it falls into. A good call reveals the total. A bad one still puts the film in its rightful place, but it takes one of your three lives, and the run ends when all three are gone.
Fame and money don't always go together here. Plenty of beloved cult favorites found their audience on home video long after they left theaters, and some of the best-known flops still earned more than you'd think, because a flop is about cost and not just ticket sales. The older the film, the more its total is held down by cheaper tickets. Totals aren't adjusted for inflation, so recent event movies have a big built-in advantage.
Here are 26 of the 26 cards you might be dealt. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
