Order by National Pokédex number, lowest first. You place all 120 cards in the right order, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
You're ordering the newest generation here, the Pokémon of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, by National Pokédex number. Types are printed beneath each name. A single card starts on the line with its number showing, and from there you slot in the rest. Get one right and its number shows up. Get one wrong and it jumps to where it belongs, leaving you one life down out of three.
Paldea's open world sent players wandering in any direction, which makes its numbering harder to recall than a route-by-route region. It also includes the paradox Pokémon, ancient and futuristic cousins of familiar creatures, plus expansion additions from the Teal Mask and Indigo Disk. Those twists make this one a stiff test even for players who've just finished Scarlet or Violet.
Here are 28 of the 120 cards you might be dealt, with 92 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
