How to play the board game timeline
These cards are board games, card games and tabletop classics, and you sort them by the year each was first published. Under every title is a name: usually the designer, sometimes the publisher. One game sits on the timeline at the start with its year in view. Pick a gap for each new card, before, between or after what's already down. A good call reveals the year and the card stays put; a bad one sends it to its real spot and takes one of your three lives.
The spread is huge, from games with ancient roots to the modern hobby boom of worker placement, deck building and engine builders. Family staples from the big toy companies fill the middle, and the designer-driven games crowd together near the end, where close calls pile up.
