How the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction timeline game works
The cards are Pulitzer Prize for Fiction winners, the author named under each title, and you order them by the year the prize was awarded. One winner starts on the timeline with its year visible. Read each new card and drop it into a gap. Choose correctly and the year turns up; pick wrong and the book still moves to its real spot, costing one of your three lives.
The winners cover family sagas, Southern novels, historical fiction, war stories and literary experiments, all by American writers. A few novelists have won the prize more than once, so the author alone won't place a book. Remember that the award usually comes the year after publication, so a book you remember from one season may be dated to the next.
