Order by the year each winner's season of Survivor premiered. You place all 40 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Each card is a Survivor champion, with the season's location or theme printed below the name, and you're ordering them by the year their season premiered. One winner starts on the timeline, year in view. Pick a gap for each new card: before, between or after the winners already placed. A good pick shows the year; a bad one moves the winner to the right spot and leaves you a life short of your three. Get ten in a row right and one of those lost lives returns.
The winners span the whole run of the show, from its first island to the latest seasons. With two seasons airing in most years, neighbors sit very close together, and the show went back to some locations again and again, so the place printed on a card narrows things without settling them. A couple of winners appear twice; the theme and location under each name are what tell those wins apart.
