How the Shakespeare plays timeline game works

Each card is a Shakespeare play, with a short description printed under the title, and you sort them by the year each was first written or performed. One play starts on the timeline with its year showing. Each new card goes into a gap before, between or after the plays already placed. Guess right and the year is shown; a wrong guess moves the play to its real spot and costs you one of your three lives.

His whole career fits in a narrow window, so plays are packed close together and many share a year with a neighbor. The descriptions are worth reading, because the kind of play he was writing changed as his career went on. The multi-part histories are a trap, since their parts weren't necessarily written in order. Scholars still argue over some of these dates, so think in rough phases.
