Order by year of release. You place all 50 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a sports movie, and the sport it's about is printed under the title: boxing, baseball, golf, racing and more. Put each film in order by the year it was released. One movie starts on the timeline with its year visible. Each new card goes into a gap of your choosing. Right, and the year is revealed. Wrong, and the film still moves to where it really belongs, but one of your three lives is gone.
It spans classic biopics, underdog comedies, gritty fight films and true stories about famous teams and races. The sport line won't date a film on its own, since baseball and boxing turn up across the whole deck. Think about the stars instead, and about which era of comedy or drama a film feels like. Films based on real events are easy to place too early, because the story is often set decades before the release.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 50 cards you might be dealt, with 22 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
