Order by year of release. You place all 45 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Here the cards are teen movies: high school comedies, coming-of-age dramas and the odd dance floor romance, each with its lead star named below the title. Arrange them by year of release. One film is placed to begin with, its year on display. Choose where each new card goes. Get it right and the year shows; miss, and the card still lands in its true position at the cost of one of your three lives.
The deck reaches from the earliest films about restless teenagers to recent indie favorites and streaming hits. Some stars headlined several of these in quick succession, which helps, but movies set in the past are a common trap: a story about a long-gone summer can be much newer than its costumes suggest. Think about when each star was actually young enough to play a student, and the order starts to fall into place.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 45 cards you might be dealt, with 17 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
