How the landmark podcasts timeline works

Every card is an influential podcast, with its host or hosts printed under the title, and you sort them by the year each launched as a podcast. One show starts out on the timeline with its year shown. Choose where each new card sits among the others. A right answer displays the year; a wrong answer still moves the show to its correct place and uses up one of three lives.

The deck runs from the first experiments with audio feeds through the comedy interview boom, the true-crime explosion, news and politics shows and the celebrity chat era. Some shows began on radio long before they became podcasts, but the year that counts is the podcast launch. Hosts are the best clue, since a celebrity's podcast usually arrives late in their career. The middle of the deck is crowded, with many hits launching within a few years of each other.

Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
