Order the Studio Ghibli films by year of release. You place all 37 cards on one timeline, one at a time. Three wrong guesses ends the run.
Each card is a Studio Ghibli production, with its director printed under the title, and you order them by year of release. The first film is already on the line, its year beside it. For each new card, choose a gap among the films already placed. A correct choice reveals the year. A wrong one still slides the film into its real spot, but one of your three lives goes with it.
Beside the famous features, the deck includes short films made for the Ghibli Museum, a music video and a couple of co-productions, so expect titles you may not recognize. One director's name appears on many cards across the studio's whole life, which makes it the least helpful clue in the deck. The shorts are the hardest to place, since few people have seen them.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
This deck has been played 29 times. An average run places 3.4 cards, and 53% of all placements land in the right spot. Nobody has placed every card yet.
The cards players get wrong most often:
Here are 28 of the 37 cards you might be dealt, with 9 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
