Order the New Line Cinema films by year of release. You place all 45 cards on one timeline, one at a time. Three wrong guesses ends the run.
Every card is a New Line Cinema release, and you sort them by year of release. The director is printed under the title on all but one card. One release is already down at the start, with its year visible. Read each new card and place it in the gap you think is right. A correct placement reveals the year. A wrong one still moves the film to its true position, costing one of your three lives.
New Line made its name on horror and grew into a home for comedies, cult crime films and one enormous fantasy saga. Franchises do much of the work: the sequels in several horror series, the buddy-cop comedies and the Middle-earth films let you build chains. The harder cards are the one-off indie favorites and the horror spin-offs that share a universe with other films.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 45 cards you might be dealt, with 17 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
