How to play the Star Trek original series episode timeline

Each card is a celebrated episode of the original Star Trek, with a one-line hint about the mission printed under its title, and you order them by first air date. Your first episode is already on the line, date shown. With each new card, you pick a gap among the episodes already placed. A correct call reveals the date. A wrong one still moves the card to its real spot but costs one of three lives.

The Enterprise crew barely changes and the show's run was brief, so the dates sit close together throughout. There's little continuing story, which leaves the guest aliens and the tone as your best clues. The early episodes are moodier and more serious, while later ones grow campier as the budget shrank. Encounters with strange new beings can sit anywhere, and they're easy to misplace.
