Famous The X-Files episodes. Order by the date each first aired. You place all 31 cards on one timeline, one at a time. Three wrong guesses ends the run.
Every card is a well-known X-Files episode, with a one-line hint under the title, and you sort them by the date each first aired. You begin with one episode placed and its air date revealed. For each new card, choose the gap where it fits among the episodes already down. Get it right and the date appears. Get it wrong and the episode still moves to its real place, taking one of your three lives.
The show alternates between its long conspiracy story and standalone monster cases, and the monster cases are the hard ones, since a creepy creature could turn up at any point. Conspiracy hints are easier to place if you followed the mythology. Most cards come from the original run, with a few from the revival much later. How much the two agents trust each other is a quiet clue too.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in exact air dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 31 cards you might be dealt, with 3 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
