Order by the year each park opened. You place all 43 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
The cards are amusement and theme parks from around the world: old pleasure gardens, roller coaster meccas, the Disney and Universal parks, and big new resorts. Each shows the park's name with its location below, and you sort them by the year the gates first opened. One park starts on the line with its year visible. Place every new card in the gap you think is right. Get it and the year appears; miss and the park still lands in its proper spot, but one of your three lives is gone.
A handful of parks are much older than the rest, then the deck takes off once Anaheim showed what a themed park could be. Regional chains and Florida resorts bunch together, and the newest cards are mostly huge resorts in Asia and Orlando. Location helps: a park's country often tells you which wave of expansion it belonged to. Sister parks at the same resort can open many years apart.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 43 cards you might be dealt, with 15 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
