How the Green Day albums timeline game works

Each card is a Green Day release, title only, and you sort them by the year it came out. One album is on the timeline at the start with its year in view. Each new card goes into a gap among the albums already placed. Pick the gap that fits and the year appears; a wrong choice moves the album to its real place and takes one of your three lives.

The band starts out on an indie punk label, breaks into the mainstream, and later turns to rock operas and big statement albums. A trilogy released almost all at once is the obvious trap, and stage and soundtrack releases sit beside the studio records. Their middle years have longer gaps between albums than you might expect.
