Order by typical adult weight, lightest first. You place all 23 cards in the right order, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a familiar dog breed, with its American Kennel Club group printed under the name, from the Toy group to the Working group. You rank the breeds by typical adult weight in kilograms, lightest first. A single breed starts on the line with its weight in view. Drop each new card into the gap where you think it belongs. Get it right and the weight appears; get it wrong and the dog still trots to its real spot, costing you one of three lives.
Figures are the middle of each breed's official weight range, so the dog to picture is an ordinary adult, neither a show champion nor a well-fed couch dog. The small end is crowded with lap dogs that are hard to tell apart. Fluffy coats make some breeds look bigger than they are, while sleek, short-haired dogs can hide surprising bulk. The group under the name helps a little, but plenty of breeds in the same group are very different sizes.
Here are 23 of the 23 cards you might be dealt. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
