Order by the year each product first went on sale. You place all 40 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
These cards are the bottles, tubes and boxes behind the bathroom mirror: pain relievers, ointments, cold remedies, toothpaste, eye drops and first-aid basics. Each shows the brand name with its maker printed below, and you order them by the year they first went on sale. One card starts on the line with its year showing. Pick a gap for each new card. A good guess reveals the year; a bad one still sends the card to its proper spot and takes away one of your three lives.
Some of these brands have been around far longer than their modern packaging suggests, and plenty of names your grandparents trusted are still on the shelf today. The newer cards are often pills that started as prescriptions before landing in the drugstore aisle, so watch for that switch. Brands owned by the same company can sit decades apart, so the maker line can help but won't settle a card.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 40 cards you might be dealt, with 12 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
