Order by the North American release year. You place all 42 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
These cards cover Nintendo's handheld family: the original grey brick, the Game Boy Color and the Game Boy Advance. Under each title you'll see which system it ran on, and the goal is to order the games by their North American release year. A single card is laid down first with its year face up. Place every card that follows into a gap on the line. If you call it right the year flips over; if not, the game slides into its true spot and you drop one of your three lives.
The system line helps most, since each model had its own era, though the eras overlap more than you might expect. Pocket monsters show up across all three machines, and their North American dates can trail Japan by a long way. Remakes and ports of older games are easy to misjudge, because the original may be far older than the handheld version. Long gaps and crowded years sit side by side here.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 42 cards you might be dealt, with 14 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
