How the MLB career hits game works

This deck ranks baseball's career hit leaders. Each card gives a player's name and, below it, the span of his career or a note that he's still active with his current team. You start with one hitter on the line and his total in view. For every new card, choose the gap where his hit count belongs. A correct call reveals the number, and a miss still slots him into the right place while taking one of your three lives.

Hits reward longevity more than almost any other stat, so the printed career span is your best friend here. The list reaches back to the game's earliest professional seasons and forward to players still in uniform. Contact hitters with long careers bunch together in the middle, where the totals are close and the names feel interchangeable. Current players are the toughest call, since their counts keep climbing.
