Order these Animal Crossing games, apps and the film by the year each was first released anywhere. You place all 17 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
These cards follow Animal Crossing across consoles, handhelds, phones, an anime film and even LEGO sets. The note under each title gives the platform or what the release is, and whether it stayed in Japan. You line them up by the year each first came out anywhere. One card is on the timeline from the start with its year in view. Pick a gap for every card after that: right, and the year appears; wrong, and the card moves to where it truly goes, and you have one life fewer of the three you began with.
It is a small deck, which makes each mistake count. The main games are spaced out, roughly one per console generation, and the spin-offs and apps crowd the space around them. Japanese releases matter, since several started there before anyone else got them, and the order goes by the earliest release anywhere. Paid add-ons and enhanced editions come after the games they build on, but by how much is the tricky part.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 17 of the 17 cards you might be dealt. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
