Order by the year each toy craze took off. You place all 35 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a toy, gadget or collectible that swept through playgrounds and stores, and the goal is to order them by the year each craze took off. Printed beneath the name is the company or inventor behind it, or a few words on what it was. One fad is already on the line, its year showing. Each new card goes into whichever gap you choose. Choose well and its year is shown; choose badly and it moves to its real place and you drop one of three lives, though a streak of ten correct cards wins a lost one back.
The fads stretch from postwar backyard toys to blind-box collectibles, passing through talking dolls, virtual pets, trading cards and plenty of things to wear on your wrist. Several makers appear more than once, so a familiar company name tells you less than you'd hope. Holiday sellouts and schoolyard bans make many of these feel bigger, and closer together, than they were. The trap is memory: a toy you loved as a kid may have taken off well before you got your hands on it.
