Order by the year each sneaker was originally released. You place all 36 cards on one timeline, one at a time. You start with three lives, and ten right in a row wins a lost one back.
Every card is a classic sneaker model, with the brand and a short description printed under its name. You put them in order of the year each one originally came out. One sneaker is on the timeline at the start with its year showing. Place each new pair in a gap among the shoes already down. If you're right the year appears, and if you're wrong the sneaker still moves to where it belongs, and you're left with one less of your three lives.
The range runs from canvas basics and early court shoes through the running boom, skate culture and signature basketball lines to designer collaborations. Retros are the big trap: many of these shoes are on shelves today, so it's easy to forget how old the originals are. The brand line helps a little, but every big brand has both old and new models here. The technology mentioned on a card is often a better hint than the name.
Want a longer game? On the deck tree you can tick this deck alongside any other one measured in release years and dates, and they shuffle into a single timeline together.
Here are 28 of the 36 cards you might be dealt, with 8 more in the deck. Their values stay hidden until you place them.
