Each card is a Halo game, and you place it by where it falls in the series' own story, not by its release date. Under each title are the characters at the heart of it. One game begins on the line with its place in the story shown. Then each card in turn needs a spot between the others. A correct choice reveals its position in the story order; a wrong one still slots it into place and costs one of three lives.
The story runs from the early days of the war with the Covenant, through Master Chief's campaigns and on into the aftermath. Prequels and side stories make it tricky, since they came out long after games that happen later. The character line is a big help: think about who was alive and fighting at each point. Games that overlap in time are the hardest to order.
